ABOUT EMILY
Dr. Emily Michero earned her Masters degree in Counseling from Texas Christian University (2005) and her Doctorate in Counseling and Counselor Education from The Univeresity of North Texas (2016). Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor by the State of Texas as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. She currently sees clients in private practice in affiliation with a group practice of counselors. With over ten years of experience counseling, Emily has worked in a variety of settings including schools, outpatient services, college clinics, inpatient hospitals and private practice. Emily is also an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice and Training Clinic Director at TCU.
Emily's practice serves children, adolescents, and young adults. Along with advanced training in Play Therapy, she also specializes in young women's issues and struggles, including depression, anxiety, body image, relational difficulties, and self-esteem. Adolescence is an amazing time of growth and potential yet is often coupled with self-doubt, risk-taking, relationship struggles, and feelings of inadaquacy. Adolescents can especially benefit from an unconditional realtionship with a caring adult outside of the family unit. Emily provides adolescsents with a safe place to relect upon themselves and their behavior.
